J.O.B.S. Act Scheduled for Floor Vote

ATLANTA— Today the House Rules Committee announced that House Bills 481 and 482 will be available for consideration on the House Floor on Thursday, March 12. These bills comprise the “Jobs, Opportunity, and Business Success Act of 2009” (J.O.B.S. Act). This legislation provides an economic recovery plan for Georgia by providing tax credits to employers for each unemployed person hired; suspending business “start-up” fees for one year; and eliminating several business taxes.

“I’m excited to see the J.O.B.S. Act finally make its way to the House Floor,” said Rep. Tom Graves, the bills’ author. “This legislation addresses our state’s need for real jobs by empowering individuals and small businesses to grow our economy and create jobs. When Representatives vote for this legislation on Thursday they will be voting to create, expand and attract jobs for Georgians.”
