Joint Election Equipment Specifications and Standards Committee to Hold Meeting at State Capitol

ATLANTA – The Joint Election Equipment Specifications and Standards Committee, co-chaired by State Representative Victor Anderson (R-Cornelia) and State Senator Max Burns (R-Sylvania), will hold a meeting and election equipment demonstration with election equipment vendors beginning on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at 9 a.m. in room 606 of the Coverdell Legislative Office Building in Atlanta, Ga. The election equipment demonstration with election equipment vendors will take place immediately following the committee’s lunch break on Thursday, October 15, 2026, in room 403 of the Georgia State Capitol in Atlanta, Ga.

During the first portion of the joint meeting, committee members will hear testimony from vendors related to equipment options, availability and pricing. Following a lunch break, vendors will then have the opportunity to provide the committee with demonstrations of potential equipment. Public comment will be allowed at the discretion of the presiding co-chair.

The bipartisan legislative panel was established by Senate Bill 3EX, authored by Sen. Burns, during the 2026 special legislative session to develop recommendations for Georgia’s next uniform election system. The committee is responsible for evaluating specifications and requirements for election equipment utilizing hand-marked paper ballots produced through ballot-on-demand printing.
