Governor Kemp Signs Chairman Chuck Martin’s Legislation Strengthening Georgia’s Education Sector

ATLANTA – On Monday, May 12, 2025, Governor Brian Kemp signed House Bill 38 at the Georgia State Capitol. Sponsored by State Representative Chuck Martin (R-Alpharetta), chairman of the House Higher Education Committee, HB 38 expands eligibility for the Georgia College Completion Grant Program (GCCG) to students nearing graduation and extends the program for several more years.

Chairman Gerald Greene Recognized by the Center for Effective Lawmaking

ATLANTA – State Representative Gerald Greene (R–Cuthbert), who serves as chairman of the House State Properties Committee, was recently recognized by the Center for Effective Lawmaking (CEL), a group of scholars from the University of Virginia and Vanderbilt University, as the second most effective House member out of 180 for the 2023-2024 legislative term.
