Ceremony Held to Dedicate Vince Dooley Memorial Intersection in Downtown Athens

ATLANTA – Yesterday, the Vince Dooley Memorial Intersection was dedicated in Athens, pursuant to House Resolution 522 that passed during the 2023 session of the Georgia General Assembly. The new Vince Dooley Memorial Intersection sits at the intersection of Broad Street and Lumpkin Street in downtown Athens.

Georgia Legislative Black Caucus Announces Black College Tour

ATLANTA – The Georgia Legislative Black Caucus (GLBC), chaired by State Representative Carl Gilliard (D-Savannah), today announced its upcoming Black College Tour, which will take place from September 25 – October 6. The Black College Tour will provide GLBC members with the opportunity to explore historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) in Georgia, dive into cultural experiences and gain insight into the needs of HBCU students across the state.
