Rep. Scott Hilton Celebrates 13th Annual Georgia Pre-K Week at Highlands Preschool

ATLANTA – State Representative Scott Hilton (R-Peachtree Corners) recently celebrated Georgia’s Pre-K Week by reading to students at Highlands Preschool in House District 48. As part of Georgia Pre-K Week, Rep. Hilton read “Pete the Cat” to a classroom of preschoolers on October 4, 2023.

“Early education and literacy are the foundation to all future learning,” said Rep. Hilton. “As Vice-Chairman of the House Education Committee, I am passionate about providing students and families with a world class education. Georgia’s Pre-K program places our next generation of students on a pathway for success, and it was truly an honor to read to this fantastic group of students.”

This year’s Georgia Pre-K week took place from October 2 – 6, 2023, and provides an opportunity for legislators and leaders around the state to visit with and read a children’s book to students in Pre-K classrooms within their local communities. This engagement gives state leaders a first-hand experience into the early education classroom.

Launched 12 years ago, Georgia Pre-K Week celebrates Georgia’s nationally recognized Pre-K Program, which has educated more than 2 million of Georgia’s youth since it began in 1992. Each year, Georgia Pre-K Week is organized by Bright from the Start: the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning and Voices for Georgia’s Children and supported by more than 20 child-focused partner organizations.
