Reps. Carter, Scott, Davis, Schofield Serve as Panelists for GLBC Conference’s “Operation Desert Georgia” Panel

ATLANTA – State Representatives Doreen Carter (D-Lithonia), Sandra Scott (D-Rex), Viola Davis (D-Stone Mountain) and Kim Schofield (D-Atlanta) recently participated in the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus’ (GLBC) annual conference on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at the EnMarket Arena in Savannah. These legislators, along with Dr. Rickie Keys, served as special guest speakers for the conference’s “Operation Desert Georgia: Food Desert, Health Desert and Credit Desert” panel session.

Reps. Burnough, Scott, Schofield Urge Equal Pay for Black Women

ATLANTA – State Representative Rhonda Burnough (D-Riverdale), Sandra Scott (D-Rex) and Kim Schofield (D-Atlanta) seek to join a coalition of advocates, lawmakers and community members from across the country to raise awareness about the wage gap that impacts Black women and their families. On Thursday, July 27, these legislators will also participate in Black Women’s Equal Pay Day 2023, a national event that will highlight the pay gap for Black women.

Rep. Demetrius Douglas Appointed to Halls of Fame Authority Overview Committee

ATLANTA – State Representative Demetrius Douglas (D-Stockbridge) was recently appointed by Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington) to the Halls of Fame Authority Overview Committee. Rep. Douglas’ term on the overview committee will run concurrently with the 2023-2024 legislative term of the Georgia General Assembly.
