Rep. El-Mahdi Holly Introduces Legislation to Commemorate Henry County’s Bicentennial Celebration

ATLANTA – State Representative El-Mahdi Holly (D-Stockbridge) recently introduced House Resolution 541 to recognize May 15, 2021, as Henry County Bicentennial Celebration Day. HR 541 was adopted by the Georgia House of Representatives during the 2021 legislative session on March 31, and the bicentennial celebration will launch with Day of Service opportunities on Saturday, May 15, 2021.

Gov. Kemp Signs Legislation to Support Victims of Dating Violence Sponsored by Rep. Gaines

ATLANTA – State Representative Houston Gaines (R-Athens) today announced that House Bill 231 was signed into law by Governor Brian Kemp on Monday, May 10, 2021. Sponsored by Rep. Gaines, HB 231 creates a new type of temporary protective order for victims who experience abuse by a dating partner.
