ATLANTA – Georgia state legislators recently attended the National Black Caucus of State Legislator’s (NBCSL) 43rd Annual Legislative Conference (ALC) in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The ALC invited African American legislators, along with advocates, policy experts, corporate executives and community leaders, to discuss pressing issues affecting African Americans and other marginalized communities. Rep. Glanton Awards College Scholarships to Local Students

ATLANTA – State Representative Mike Glanton (D-Jonesboro), in partnership with the Beauty Master Foundation, recently awarded college scholarships to local students who are college-bound or currently enrolled in college. Reps. Gaines and Wiedower Announce Grant Funding for Organizations in Clarke and Oconee Counties

ATLANTA – The Georgia Department of Economic Development’s Georgia Council for the Arts (GCA) and State Representatives Houston Gaines (R-Athens) and Marcus Wiedower (R-Watkinsville) recently announced that the Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation, Inc. (OCAF) and Nuçi’s Space were awarded grant funding for special art projects OFAC received a Vibrant Communities Grant for $4,000, and Nuçi’s Space received a Cultural Facilities Grant for more than $21,000. Georgia Legislative Black Caucus Opposes Gov. Kemp’s Health Care Waiver Proposal

ATLANTA – State Representative Karen Bennett (D-Stone Mountain), chair of the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus (GLBC), recently announced the GLBC’s opposition to health care waiver proposals from Governor Brian Kemp. Clayton County Legislators Announce Grant Funding for Arts Clayton, Inc.

ATLANTA – The Georgia Department of Economic Development’s Georgia Council for the Arts (GCA), along with State Representatives Rhonda Burnough (D-Riverdale), Mike Glanton (D-Jonesboro), Kim Schofield (D-Atlanta), Sandra Scott (D-Rex) and Valencia Stovall (D-Forest Park), recently announced that Arts Clayton, Inc. was selected as a Cultural Facilities Grant recipient.
