State Lawmakers Raise Concerns over Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners Vote
ATLANTA – State Representatives Pedro Marin (D-Duluth) and Dewey McClain (D-Lawrenceville) today announced that they are questioning the motives of the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners following its vote on Tuesday to schedule the vote on whether or not to bring the MARTA rail system through parts of Gwinnett County until March 2019. Roughly 200 people attended the 8 a.m. meeting to determine if the November ballot should include a vote on MARTA. Martha Wigton, Georgia House Budget and Research Office Director, Elected to Leadership Role for NCSL
ATLANTA – Martha Wigton, director of the Georgia House Budget and Research Office, was recently elected to the position of staff vice chair of the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) at the 2018 Legislative Summit in Los Angeles. Wigton will succeed to staff chair in 2019-2020. NCSL, a bipartisan organization, serves the nation’s 7,383 legislators and more than 20,000 legislative staff.
