Rep. Al Williams Appointed to House Working Group on Creative Arts & Entertainment

            ATLANTA – State Representative Al Williams (D-Midway) was recently appointed to the House Working Group on Creative Arts & Entertainment by Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge).

“The Georgia arts and entertainment industries are very close to my heart, and I am honored that Speaker Ralston appointed me to serve on this working group,” said Rep. Williams, “I look forward to supporting the industries that employ thousands of citizens in our state.”

The House Working Group on Creative Arts & Entertainment will work with state agencies and stakeholders to bolster investment and job creation in Georgia by the film, television, music and video game production industries among other creative industries. Combined, these industries employ 200,000 Georgians and generate more than $60 billion of economic activity in the state each year.

The House Working Group on Creative Arts & Entertainment is constituted pursuant to the authority granted to the Speaker by House Rules. The working group is authorized for the entirety of the 2019-2020 legislative term.

Representative Al Williams represents the citizens of District 168, which includes portions of Liberty County. He was elected to the House of Representatives in 2002 and currently serves on the Appropriations Subcommittee on Public Safety and the Economic Development & Tourism, Game, Fish & Parks, Rules and Transportation committees. He is also a member of the Working Group on Creative Arts & Entertainment.
