Rep. Allen Peake Named Vice Chairman of House Rules Committee

ATLANTA – The Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments named State Representative Allen Peake (R-Macon) as the Vice Chairman of the House Rules Committee. Rep. Peake currently serves as a member of the Health & Human Services and Small Business Development committees, as well as Ex-Officio of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Economic Development and Vice Chairman of the Ways & Means Committee.

“I am honored to be named Vice-Chair of the Rules Committee,” said Rep. Peake. “I look forward to working with our House leadership to continue to push common sense legislation for our state.”

The House Rules Committee, chaired by Rep. John Meadows (R-Calhoun), oversees the flow of legislation from passage in committee to determination of what bills should be debated and voted on the House floor.

The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives.

Representative Allen Peake represents the citizens of District 141, which includes portions of Bibb and Monroe counties. He was elected into the House of Representatives in 2006, and currently serves as the Vice Chairman of the Rules and Ways & Means committees, and the Ex-Officio of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Economic development. He also serves on the Health & Human Services and Small Business Development committees.
