Rep. Anulewicz Presents 2018 Nikki T. Randall Servant Leadership Award to Badio-McCray

ATLANTA – State Representative Teri Anulewicz (D-Smryna) led the Georgia House of Representatives in honoring Daneea Badio-McCray with House Resolution 1339, commending Badio-McCray for her service to her community, on Monday, March 5, 2018. Rep. Anulewicz also presented Badio-McCray with the 2018 Nikki T. Randall Servant Leadership Award.

“I am honored to present this award to Daneea Badio-McCray today, and she is an exemplary example of what it means to be a servant leader,” said Rep. Anulewicz. “She works every day to suppor030618 TAnulewicz HR 1339 Photot and enrich youth and families in the Franklin Gateway corridor and throughout Marietta, and she is a force for powerful collaboration in our community that includes local families, businesses, schools, scores of community partners, numerous law enforcement partners and multiple levels of government, such as Marietta City Council and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Georgia. I am so grateful for everything Daneea has done to advance and improve House District 42.”

Badio-McCray is the executive director of the Marietta Police Athletic League (PAL), an organization that helps to build relationships between law enforcement and youth through sports, and the chair of the board of directors of Youth Empowerment through Learning, Leading and Serving (YELLS), an organization focused on raising up servant leaders amongst youth in the Franklin Gateway community.

“Daneea Badio-McCray’s work has been a key ingredient to Marietta’s community-relations renaissance,” said Cobb County Police Chief Dan Flynn. “Her positive, understanding and outgoing nature represents the City of Marietta in an exemplary way.”

Representative Teri Anulewicz represents the citizens of District 42, which includes portions of Cobb County. She was elected to the House of Representatives in 2017 and currently serves on the Code Revision, Intragovernmental Coordination and Transportation committees.
