ATLANTA – State Representative Arlene Beckles (D-Norcross) is encouraging middle and high school students across Gwinnett County and House District 96 to take advantage of an upcoming opportunity to explore careers in technology, engineering, healthcare, data science and other Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Medicine and Math (STEAMM) fields at Metro Youth Technology Exposure Experience (MY.TECH EXPO™) @ Microsoft ATL event on Friday, October 9, 2026.
“Our young people cannot pursue opportunities they cannot see,” said Rep. Beckles. “Events like MY.TECH EXPO give students the chance to step inside a major technology company, meet professionals who are building the future, ask questions and begin imagining themselves in careers they may never have considered. As we prepare Georgia’s workforce for tomorrow, we must make sure our students have access to the exposure, relationships and skills they need today.”
The free, half-day MY.TECH EXPO™ will take place from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Microsoft ATL and is designed specifically for middle and high school students. Registration is required, and lunch will be provided.
The event will feature a tour of Microsoft’s corporate office, interactive STEMM workshops led by industry professionals, career exploration, a Microsoft career panel, connections with the National Society of Black Engineers’ (NSBE) college chapters and healthcare and data science research opportunities.
“Technology touches virtually every part of our lives — from healthcare and cybersecurity to artificial intelligence, engineering and data science,” added Rep. Beckles. “I want students in House District 96 and throughout our region to understand that they have a place in this future. Exposure can become inspiration, and inspiration can become a career.”
MY.TECH EXPO™ @ Microsoft ATL is presented in partnership with the John & JeJuan Stewart, Jr. Foundation and NSBE Jr., with programming focused on empowering the next generation of engineers and leaders.
Rep. Beckles notes that events like MY.TECH EXPO™ @ Microsoft ATL seek to serve as a point of convergence, bringing students who are actively building STEAMM skills face-to-face with corporations like Microsoft.
