Rep. Bonnie Rich Elected House Majority Caucus Chairman

ATLANTA – The House Republican Caucus today elected State Representative Bonnie Rich (R-Suwanee) by acclamation as the House Majority Caucus Chairman for the remainder of the 2021-2022 legislative term.

“I am humbled and grateful that the House Republican Caucus has elected me to join its dynamic leadership team,” said Majority Caucus Chairman Rich. “It is my distinct honor to serve every member of our caucus as we continue to lead the House with sound, effective policymaking. Our state is growing and flourishing because of decades of conservative leadership that allows families, individuals and businesses to thrive. However, we must hold the line so our state can reach its full potential and become an even greater place to call home. As we prepare our legislative agenda for the 2022 legislative session, I look forward to moving our state forward, fighting for strong, conservative legislation and keeping all Georgians’ best interests at heart.”

“Bonnie Rich is a proven leader who has earned the trust of our colleagues,” said Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge). “Her strong work ethic and passion for good public policy will be invaluable in this new role. I am delighted to welcome her to our Caucus leadership team and thank her for her willingness to serve.”

Representative Bonnie Rich represents the citizens of District 97, which includes portions of Gwinnett County. She was elected to the House of Representatives in 2018 and currently serves as the Majority Caucus Chairman and Chairman of the Legislative & Congressional Reapportionment Committee. She also serves on the Special Committee on Access to the Civil Justice System and the Special Committee on Election Integrity, as well as the Education, Judiciary, Retirement and Ways & Means committees.
