Rep. Brett Harrell Receives 2016 Georgia Elected Official of the Year Award

ATLANTA – State Representative Brett Harrell (R-Snellville) was recently awarded the 2016 Georgia Elected Official of the Year Award by the Atlanta Area Chapter of the Appraisal Institute.

“I sincerely appreciate the Atlanta Area Chapter of the Appraisal Institute for recognizing my steadfast work to bharrell-ga-elected-official-of-the-year-awardprotecting private property rights in Georgia,” said Rep. Harrell. “I am proud to be an advocate and an ally of the Appraisal Institute’s Atlanta Chapter.”

Atlanta Area Chapter of the Appraisal Institute President Joe Anderson recently presented Rep. Harrell with the 2016 Georgia Elected Official of the Year Award.

“Representative Harrell has had a long and distinguished record of public service beginning as a planning commissioner, city councilman and mayor of Snellville,” said Chapter President Joe Anderson. “He went on to become the U.S. 78 Community Investment District Director, before being elected to the State House from District 106, where he serves as vice-chairman on three House committees. Harrell has been a friend to the real estate industry in general and has always supported small businesses.”

The Atlanta Area Chapter of the Appraisal Institute is the only appraisal organization in the United States to offer classes approved for the GI Bill for veterans. The Appraisal Institute is a global professional association of real estate appraisers with nearly 21,000 professionals. Its mission is to advance professionalism, ethics, global standards, methodologies and practices through the professional development of property economics worldwide.

Representative Brett Harrell represents citizens of District 106, which includes portions of Gwinnett County. He was elected into the House of Representatives in 2010 and currently serves as the Vice Chairman on the Rules, Budget & Fiscal Affairs Oversight and Regulated Industries committees and as the Secretary on the Ways & Means Committee.
