Rep. Brian Prince Appointed to House Legislative & Congressional Reapportionment Committee

ATLANTA – State Representative Brian Prince (D-Augusta) was recently appointed by Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge) to serve as a member on the House Legislative & Congressional Reapportionment Committee.

“I am truly honored to serve in this capacity and am humbled to be selected to be on this committee ahead of the special legislative session this November,” said Rep. Prince.

This committee is responsible for drawing the boundaries of Georgia General Assembly’s House and Senate districts, as well as the U.S. House districts, based on population data from the latest decennial U.S. Census.

Speaker Ralston appointed Rep. Prince to replace State Representative Mickey Stephens (D-Savannah), who passed away in Aug. 2021.

Representative Brian Prince represents the citizens of District 127, which includes portions of Jefferson and Richmond counties. He was elected to the House of Representatives in 2013 and currently serves as the Secretary of the Defense & Veterans Affairs Committee. He also serves on the Special Committee On Access to Quality Health Care, Appropriations Subcommittee on General Government and the Legislative & Congressional Reapportionment, Motor Vehicles, Special Rules and Transportation committees.
