Rep. Brian Prince Named Chairman of House Urban Affairs Committee

ATLANTA – The Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments recently named State Representative Brian Prince (D-Augusta) as the Chairman of the House Urban Affairs Committee.

“I am honored and grateful for this opportunity to serve my community and the citizens of this great state,” said Rep. Prince. “I am humbled that Speaker Jon Burns, Minority Leader James Beverly and the Committee on Assignments are confident in my ability to lead. I am looking forward to working across the aisle as we process legislation through this new committee. To God be the glory.”

The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives. 

The House Urban Affairs Committee deals with a broad array of policy issues pertinent to Georgia’s metropolitan areas.

Representative Brian Prince represents the citizens of District 132, which includes portions of Jefferson and Richmond counties. He was elected to the House of Representatives in 2013 and currently serves as Chairman of the Urban Affairs Committee.
