ATLANTA – State Representatives Brian Strickland (R-McDonough) recently hosted Stuart Wilkinson with the Governor’s Office of County and Local Government Affairs as he toured Henry County and met with local officials. Wilkinson visited each of Henry County’s cities on Thursday, September 19, 2013.
“I believe the Governor shares my support of strong local control with governments that are the closest to the people they serve,” said Rep. Strickland. “As I shared with each city, my job is to be a strong advocate for Henry County and our four municipalities at the state level. I was proud to have the opportunity to highlight what makes our communities unique with the Governor’s office.”
The purpose of Wilkinson’s trip was to showcase Henry County and to remind local leaders of the resources available through the Governor’s office. Rep. Strickland and Wilkinson visited each of Henry County’s cities: McDonough, Hampton, Locust Grove, and Stockbridge. At each stop Wilkinson met with the Mayor, council members, and other city leaders that were able to attend.
Representative Brian Strickland represents the citizens of District 111, which includes portions of Henry County. He was elected into the House of Representatives in 2012, and currently serves on the Banks & Banking, Intragovernmental, and Judiciary Non-Civil committees.
