Rep. Brian Strickland Named Chairman of House Industry & Labor Committee

ATLANTA – The Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments named State Representative Brian Strickland (R-McDonough) as the Chairman of the House Industry & Labor Committee.  Rep. Strickland will also serve as a member on the Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation & Infrastructure, and the Banks and Banking, Economic Development & Tourism, Intragovernmental Coordination, and Judiciary Non-Civil committees.

“I am honored to serve the citizens of this state as the new Chairman of the House Industry and Labor Committee,” said Rep. Strickland.  “I look forward to leading our state in the right direction when it comes to protecting and expanding our labor force, while continuing to set the standard as the number one state in the nation in which to do business. I am also proud to be appointed as a member of the new House Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation and Infrastructure. In order to remain a leading state for industry, we must properly invest in our transportation infrastructure. I look forward to representing the people of Henry County, as well as our entire state, in these new leadership positions.”

The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives.

Representative Brian Strickland represents the citizens of District 111, which includes portions of Henry County. He was elected into the House of Representatives in 2012, and currently serves as the Chairman of the Industry & Labor Committee. He also serves on the Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation & Infrastructure, and the Banks & Banking, Economic Development & Tourism, Intragovernmental Coordination, and Judiciary Non-Civil committees.
