Rep. Bruce Williamson Elected House Majority Caucus Chairman

ATLANTA – The House Republican Caucus today elected State Representative Bruce Williamson (R-Monroe) as the House Majority Caucus Chairman for the 2023-2024 legislative term during caucus elections on Monday, November 14, 2022.

“I want to thank my colleagues for entrusting me to serve our caucus in this new leadership role,” said Rep. Williamson. “Since I was first elected to the caucus leadership team, I have poured my heart into ensuring each Republican member is supported as they serve their constituents. In this new role, I will continue to pour into our members and will work to strengthen our caucus and reach Georgians who need to hear our message. We’ve seen the importance of expanding our political operations, and as the chair, I look forward to building a year-round caucus-led political machine that ensures that we have the best and brightest talent in our caucus.”

In this position, Chairman Williamson will lead the House Majority Caucus’ operations. He will preside over the Majority Caucus meetings, oversee incumbent re-elections, and spearhead candidate recruitment, among other responsibilities.

This will be Chairman Williamson’s seventh term in the Georgia House of Representatives and his first term as the Majority Caucus Chairman.

Representative Bruce Williamson currently represents the citizens of District 115, which includes portions of Walton County. He was elected to the House of Representatives in 2010 and currently serves as the Chairman of House Majority Caucus. He also serves on the Banks & Banking, Energy, Utilities & Telecommunications, Insurance, Governmental Affairs, Regulated Industries, Rules and Ways & Means committees.
