ATLANTA — State Representative Bruce Williamson (R-Monroe) recently received the 2015 Legislator of the Year Award from the Georgia Chamber of Commerce.

Williamson. “Thriving businesses pave the way for job growth, opportunities for higher paying jobs, and overall economic growth and stability, and as a business owner, I understand firsthand the challenges that businesses in Georgia can face. This is why creating business-friendly policies in Georgia has always been a priority to me. It has been a pleasure to work with the Chamber throughout my time in the legislature, and I look forward to continuing our work together as we strive to ensure that Georgia is seen as a beacon for jobs and industry.”
Rep. Williamson was selected for this award by The Georgia Chamber for his support of policies that promote job growth and economic development in Georgia. During the 2015 legislative session, Rep. Williamson authored and passed four business oriented bills, including House Bill 237, or the Angel Investor Tax Credit, which will extend the current tax credit set to expire at the end of the 2015 tax year for an additional five years. The Georgia Chamber also named HB 237 as one of the Georgia Chamber’s 2015 Scorecard support issues during the 2015 legislative session. HB 237 was recently signed into law by Governor Deal.

Representative Bruce Williamson represents the citizens of District 115, which includes portions of Walton County. He was elected into the House of Representatives in 2010, and currently serves as the Vice Chairman of the Banks & Banking Committee.
