ATLANTA – State Representative Carl Gilliard (D-Savannah), chair of the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus, will host a book and documentary release event for his new book and documentary film, called The Power of the Pen, on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 4 p.m. at the Savannah Cultural Arts Center.
The Power of the Pen is a documentary film regarding the successful repeal of the Georgia citizen arrest law. It also documents the stories of Breonna Taylor, George Floyd and Ahmaud Arbery. The book is a combination of civics, politics and spirituality.
The event is free and open to the public. There will be a pre-show at 4 p.m. followed by the film and a Q&A. The event is free, but please RSVP by calling 912-436-5325.
