ATLANTA – State Representative Carl Gilliard (D-Savannah) will host several upcoming road dedication events in Savannah, Ga. The road dedication event details are as follows:
- State Representative Edna Jackson (D-Savannah) Interchange Dedication Event on Friday, October 2, 2026, at 11 a.m. at St. Phillip AME Church in Savannah;
- Huxsie Scott Bridge Dedication Event on Monday, October 5, 2026, at 10 a.m. at the Howard Jordan Building at Savannah State University;
- Mary Davis Road Dedication Event on Monday, October 12, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Central Baptist Church in Savannah;
- Jimmy “Lord” Brown Intersection Dedication Event on Monday, October 19, 2026, at 11 a.m. at the Vintage Special Events Center in Savannah.
House Resolution 354 was sponsored by Rep. Gilliard during the 2021 legislative session, which dedicates the Honorable Representative Edna Jackson Interchange. During the 2026 legislative session, Rep. Gilliard also sponsored House Resolution 1672 to dedicate the Huxsie Scott Bridge; House Resolution 1709 to dedicate the Mary Davis Road; and House Resolution 1673 to dedicate the Jimmy Lord Brown Intersection.
Each event will begin with a brief program followed by a motorcade procession to the location of the road dedication.
