Rep. Chuck Williams Named Chairman of House Study Committee on Historic Site Preservation

ATLANTA – Speaker of the House David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge) recently appointed State Representative Chuck Williams (R-Watkinsville) as the Chairman of the House Study Committee on Historic Site Preservation.

“I would like to thank Speaker Ralston for appointing me to chair this study committee,” said Rep. Williams. “With 18 significant historic sites and historic parks in Georgia relying on preservation efforts, it is crucial that we study the most effective ways to achieve this goal, including a review of various state agencies and their interactions with our historic sites. I look forward to working with this committee to provide solutions for all of Georgia’s historical landmarks.”

The five member study committee is created by House Resolution 978 and will study the effectiveness of state efforts to preserve historic sites in Georgia and conduct a comprehensive review of programs designed to accomplish such preservation.
