ATLANTA – State Representative Christian Coomer (R-Cartersville) was recently appointed by Governor Nathan Deal to serve on the Court Reform Council. This newly created council will examine current procedures and practices within the judicial court and administrative law hearing systems and make recommendations to more efficiently and effectively administer justice in the State of Georgia.
“Our state government is constitutionally responsible for ensuring the judiciary is adequately equipped and properly managed,” said Rep. Coomer. “Throughout my tenure in the General Assembly, I have focused on finding solutions to problems facing Georgia’s courts, and I am grateful Gov. Deal has given me an opportunity to serve on this important council.”
The Court Reform Council, which consists of 11 members and is chaired by Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr, will submit a final report detailing their findings and recommendations to Gov. Deal on or before Dec. 1, 2017.

Representative Christian Coomer represents the citizens of District 14, which includes portions of Bartow and Floyd counties. He was elected into the House of Representatives in 2010, and currently serves as the House Majority Whip. He serves as a member of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation & Infrastructure and on the Banks & Banking, Transportation, Judiciary Non-Civil, Retirement, and Juvenile Justice committees.
