Rep. David Wilkerson Elected House Minority Whip

ATLANTA – The House Democratic Caucus elected State Representative David Wilkerson (D-Powder Springs) to serve as the House Minority Whip during caucus elections on Tuesday, November 10, 2020.

“I appreciate the confidence placed in me by the members of the House Democratic Caucus and look forward to the opportunity to serve in this role,” said Minority Whip Wilkerson. “After previously serving as the treasurer for our caucus, I have been focused on serving as the chairman of the Cobb Legislative Delegation for the last two years. I am excited about returning to the leadership team and working with House Minority Leader James Beverly and all the members of our caucus to develop a progressive, common-sense agenda that puts Georgia’s families first.”

Minority Whip Wilkerson is responsible for monitoring legislation as it moves through both chambers of the General Assembly and helping the members of the Minority Caucus to better understand the details of bills and resolutions.

This will be Minority Whip Wilkerson’s sixth term in the Georgia House of Representatives and his firstterm as Minority Whip.

Representative David Wilkerson represents the citizens of District 38, which includes portions of Cobb County. He was elected to the House of Representatives in 2010 and currently serves as the House Minority Whip. He also serves on the Budget and Fiscal Affairs Oversight, Juvenile Justice, Retirement and Science and Technology committees.
