Rep. Don Parsons Named Chairman of the House Energy, Utilities & Telecommunications Committee

ATLANTA – The Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments named State Representative Don Parsons (R-Marietta) as the Chairman of the House Energy, Utilities & Telecommunications Committee.

“It is a tremendous honor to have been selected by Speaker Jon Burns and the Committee on Assignments to continue overseeing legislation that impacts every single Georgian,” said Rep. Parsons. “I look forward in continuing to chair this committee as we continue to establish sound energy policy for Georgia.”

The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives. 

This Energy, Utilities & Telecommunications Committee is responsible for legislation concerning the energy, gas, electric and other related industry areas. It is also responsible for the rules and regulations concerning the telecommunications industry.

Representative Donald Parsons represents the citizens of District 44, which includes portions of Cherokee and Cobb counties. He was elected to the House of Representatives in 1994 and currently serves as the Chairman of the Energy, Utilities & Telecommunications Committee.
