ATLANTA – State Representative Dusty Hightower (R-Carroll County) was sworn into office today as the state representative for House District 68. He won a special election to fill the seat vacated by Rep. Tim Bearden on January 3, 2012.
“I am excited about being sworn in, and I am ready to work for district 68,” said Rep. Hightower. “I want to thank the people of Carroll and Douglas County for believing in me, and I will do everything I can to serve them to the best of my ability.”
During this morning’s ceremony, Georgia Superior Court Judge John Simpson gave the oath of office to Rep. Hightower, as his wife, Christina Hightower, held the Bible and stood next to him in support.
