ATLANTA – State Representative Carl Gilliard (D-Garden City) will host a bridge dedication ceremony in honor of Chatham County’s Kicklighter family on Friday, November 13, 2020, at 10 a.m. at the 701 US-80 and Alfred Street overpass (in front of the Savannah State Farmers Market) in Garden City.
Through this dedication, Rep. Gilliard seeks to honor the Kicklighter family for their contributions to Chatham County for more than five decades. During the 2020 legislative session, the House of Representatives adopted House Resolution 1328, sponsored by Rep. Gilliard. The resolution names the overpass bridge on 701 West Highway 80 in Chatham County the Kicklighter Overpass.
The public is invited to attend the ceremony.
