Rep. Gilliard to Host Event to Help Residents Apply for Georgia Rental Assistance Program

ATLANTA – State Representative Carl Gilliard (D-Garden City) will host a special event to help Chatham County residents apply for the Georgia Rental Assistance Program on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at 11 a.m. at the Empowerment Center in Garden City.

Rep. Gilliard is partnering with the Georgia Department of Community Affairs to host this event. The Georgia Rental Assistance Program provides up to 18 months of rental and utility assistance to Georgia renters who have fallen behind on rent payments since the start of the pandemic.

At this event, individuals will be able to apply for the program and must bring a fully completed application and all of the necessary documentation. For more information about this program and a full list of requirements, please click here.

“Recently, Georgia was able to secure $989 million from the U.S Treasury Federal Emergency Rental Assistance Program,” said Rep. Gilliard. “I am elated that we are able to secure an opportunity for the residents of Chatham County to receive the much needed help to get them back on their feet.”
