Rep. Gilliard to Serve as Keynote Speaker at Local Rotary Club Meetings

ATLANTA – State Representative Carl Gilliard (D-Garden City) will serve as the keynote speaker for the following upcoming Rotary Club meetings in House District 162:

  • Savannah Rotary Club: Monday, June 7, 2021, at 12 p.m. at the Desoto in Savannah;
  • Southside Rotary Club: Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at 12 p.m. at Carey Hilliard’s (Abercorn St. location) in Savannah.

            At the meetings, Rep. Gilliard will discuss the 2021 legislative session, specifically legislation he introduced which would have an impact on the Savannah area. He will highlight House Bill 750, which was signed into law and created the Chatham County Legislative Gang Prevention and Intervention Commission. Rep. Gilliard will also discuss House Resolution 161, which he recently introduced to study non-stop transportation from Savannah to Atlanta. If this resolution is adopted during the 2022 legislative session, it would establish the House Study Committee on a Nancy Hanks Passenger Rail Line.
