ATLANTA – State Representative Mike Glanton (D-Jonesboro), in partnership with Beauty Master Foundation, Inc. and the Georgia Atlanta Beauty Supply Association (GABSA), today announced that he will donate more than 4,000 face masks to local nonprofit organizations. Through this donation, Rep. Glanton seeks to ensure that nonprofit organizations can continue to operate safely amid the novel coronavirus, COVID-19, pandemic.
“During this incredibly difficult time in our state and country, our nonprofit organizations need to continue to function right now as they supplement some essential government resources that citizens depend on,” said Rep. Glanton. “These donations will allow nonprofits to continue to operate, which is even more critical since the federal government recently extended social distancing guidelines to April 30, 2020. I anticipate that cities and counties may also extend local guidelines to make further restrictions.”
Beauty Master Foundation, Inc. is the largest ethnic beauty department chain in the United States. Beauty Master supports many regional and national charities and understands that giving back to the community is part of their corporate responsibility.
The Georgia Atlanta Beauty Supply Association seeks to make every effort to help both retailers and wholesalers make a profit and contribute to the development of the beauty industry. The GABSA also works to give back to the local community through community service and scholarship opportunities.
Representative Mike Glanton represents the citizens of District 75, which includes portions of Clayton County. He was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2006 and was re-elected in 2012. He currently serves as Vice Chairman on the Appropriations Subcommittee on Education. He also serves on the Defense & Veterans Affairs, Education, MARTOC and Public Safety & Homeland Security committees.
