ATLANTA – State Representative Jordan Ridley (R-Woodstock) was sworn into office as a member of the Georgia House of Representatives on Monday, January 9, 2023, marking his first day of the 2023-2024 legislative term. Monday was the first day of the first term of the 157th Legislative Session of the Georgia General Assembly.
“I am honored to be able to serve my constituents by being appointed to several key House committees,” said Rep. Ridley. “The decisions made in my committees will profoundly impact the counties in my district and beyond. I hope to make House District 22 proud as my colleagues and I review legislation that help keeps our state a safe and affordable place to live, work and raise a family.”
In addition to being officially sworn in, the Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments named Rep. Ridley as the Secretary of the Energy, Utilities & Telecommunications Committee. He was also named to Code Revision and Public Safety and Homeland Security committees.
The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives.
Representative Jordan Ridley represents the citizens of District 22, which includes portions of Cherokee and Cobb counties. He was elected to the House of Representatives in 2022 and currently serves as the Secretary of the Energy, Utilities & Telecommunications Committee. He also serves on the Code Revision and Public Safety and Homeland Security committees.
