Rep. Solomon Adesanya Sworn in, Receives Committee Assignments for the 2023-2024 Legislative Term

ATLANTA – State Representative Solomon Adesanya (D-Marietta) was sworn into office as a member of the Georgia House of Representatives on Monday, January 9, 2023, marking his first day of the 2023-2024 legislative term. Monday was the first day of the first term of the 157th Legislative Session of the Georgia General Assembly.

“I am excited to get to work creating progressive, people-focused policies on behalf of my constituents in House District 43,” said Rep. Adesanya. “My experience as a Cobb County business owner will certainly guide my decisions in the House Chamber. Small business is the heart of our community, and I’ve been fortunate enough to be named to three committees that shape policies to support business owners in Cobb County and across Georgia.”

In addition to being officially sworn in, the Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments named Rep. Adesanya to the Economic Development & Tourism, Intragovernmental Coordination and Small Business Development committees. 

The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives. 

Rep. Adesanya is an entrepreneur that owns two restaurants in Cobb County.

Representative Solomon Adesanya represents the citizens of District 43, which includes portions of Cobb County. He was elected to the House of Representatives in 2022 and currently serves on the Economic Development & Tourism, Intragovernmental Coordination and Small Business Development committees.
