ATLANTA –State Representative Joyce Chandler (R-Grayson) today released the following statement in recognition of School Counseling Week in Georgia:
“School counselors across Georgia work diligently as valued components of both public and private schools to aid students in reaching their full potential. They are actively committed to helping students maximize their academic potential and explore their abilities, strengths, interests, and talents as these traits relate to career awareness and development.
“Comprehensive developmental school counseling programs are an integral aspect of the educational process that enables all students to experience academic success. Through their commitment and diligence, school counselors help to shape and secure the future of our children by preparing students for the 21st century workforce.”
As directed by a proclamation from Governor Nathan Deal, School Counseling Week in Georgia will be observed throughout the week of February 2-6, 2015.
Representative Joyce Chandler represents the citizens of District 105, which includes portions of Gwinnett County. She was first elected into the House of Representatives in 2012, and is currently serving on the Education, Higher Education, Regulated Industries and Juvenile Justice committees.
