Rep. Kim Schofield to Host Community Event to Help Residents Retain Medicaid Coverage during Redetermination Process

ATLANTA – State Representative Kim Schofield (D-Atlanta) will host a community event to educate and inform residents on how to keep their Medicaid and PeachCare for Kids coverage during the state’s redetermination process TOMORROW, Tuesday, August 29, 2023, from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the Rosel Fann Recreation Center in Atlanta.

“The recent discussions surrounding Medicaid unwinding have brought to light potential changes requiring reenrollment and eligibility redetermination that could significantly affect individuals, senior adults, children, teens and families relying on Medicaid and PeachCare for Kids benefits,” said Rep. Schofield. “For many, these programs could potentially disrupt the health care stability of these families and put the health of their children at risk if they lose their benefits.”

During this event, Rep. Schofield will be joined by representatives from Georgia Stand-Up and representatives from the Department of Health & Human Services, as well as other community partners.

Eligibility checks are currently being conducted and will continue through May 2024. Georgia Medicaid recipients can take action and find more information on this process via their Gateway account.
