Rep. Lisa Campbell Sworn in, Receives Committee Assignments for the 2023-2024 Legislative Term

ATLANTA – State Representative Lisa Campbell (D-Kennesaw) was sworn into office as a member of the Georgia House of Representatives on Monday, January 9, 2023, marking her first day of the 2023-2024 legislative term. Monday was the first day of the first term of the 157th Legislative Session of the Georgia General Assembly.

“As I begin my first term as a state legislator, I am enthusiastic and hopeful about the opportunities to work with all members of the General Assembly, Governor Brian Kemp and elected officials from across the state of Georgia to deliver on my promise to help build a better Georgia for all,” said Rep. Campbell.  “In my new committee roles, I am eager to work to help pass proactive, responsible legislation in the areas of top concern for the constituents of District 35: health care, education, equal rights, the environment, human relations, aging, reproductive freedom and an inclusive economy.”

In addition to being officially sworn in, the Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments named Rep. Campbell to the Budget and Fiscal Affairs Oversight, Human Relations & Aging and Interstate Cooperation committees. 

The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives. 

Representative Lisa Campbell represents the citizens of District 35, which includes portions of Cobb County. She was elected to the House of Representatives in 2022 and currently serves on the Budget and Fiscal Affairs Oversight, Human Relations & Aging and Interstate Cooperation committees.
