ATLANTA – State Representative Lynn Gladney (D-Augusta) was sworn into office as a member of the Georgia House of Representatives on Monday, January 9, 2023, marking her first day of the 2023-2024 legislative term. Monday was the first day of the first term of the 157th Legislative Session of the Georgia General Assembly.

“I am excited to get to work in my House committees on behalf of my constituents in Augusta, and this session, I am interested in reviewing legislation that would support workforce development and affordable housing for working families.” said Rep. Gladney. “I am grateful I have been appointed to the House Economic Development and Tourism Committee. Economic development policy can increase visibility to several economic drivers in our region, including the Augusta Riverfront-Downtown area, the Historic Laney Walker District and the Augusta Regional Airport area.”

Gladney. “As a third generation military veteran, I am passionate about representing advocacy for all who serve and being named to the House Defense and Veterans Affairs Committee is a distinguished honor for my community.”

The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives.
