Rep. Lydia Glaize Named Georgia Delegate to 75th Annual SREB Legislative Work Conference

ATLANTA – State Representative Lydia Glaize (D-Fairburn) was recently named by Governor Brian Kemp’s office as one of Georgia’s Delegates to the Southern Regional Education Board’s (SREB) 75th Annual Legislative Work Conference, from June 5 – 7, 2026, in Charlotte, North Carolina.

“I’m honored to serve as one of Governor Kemp’s Georgia Delegates to the SREB 75th Annual Legislative Work Conference to advance policies that make a lasting difference for the next generation of Georgians,” said Rep. Glaize. “My last 10 years as an educator were spent working in the areas of college and careers, so I am grateful to be able to participate in this conference and continue to advocate for students and workforce development.”

SREB’s Legislative Work Conference, which runs concurrently with the Annual Meeting of the SREB Board, is the longest-standing legislative meeting on education in the nation, now in its 75th year.

This year’s meeting is set to focus on the region’s critical needs: educator workforce development, career pathways for an AI-transformed economy, early learning and childcare and sustainable education funding. Through interactive presentations, panel discussions and state teamwork, this conference seeks to encourage participants to help define what success looks like in providing every student in the region with a high-quality education leading to meaningful careers, fulfilling lives and thriving economies.
