“It’s an honor to once more serve as chair of this important, impactful committee,” said Rep. Smith. “For over 20 years, I have sought balance between environmental and economic issues affecting the state, while focusing on bettering the quality of life for citizens of Georgia. I look forward to working alongside my committee colleagues to prioritize legislation that supports the abundance of natural resources in our great state.”
The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives.
The House Natural Resources and Environment Committee is assigned legislation pertaining to management, quality and usage of Georgia’s natural resources.
