ATLANTA – State Representative Mandisha A. Thomas (D-South Fulton) today announced that she will launch a virtual talk-show series, “State Talk,” during the 2022 legislative session.
“I am looking forward to hosting this series of interviews with these officials who have dedicated their professional careers to serving our state,” said Rep. Thomas. “‘State Talk’ is part of an ongoing initiative to educate and increase awareness of exactly what our state agencies do for residents. Communities need to know what agencies to call on and what to expect in regards to services and programming, and this series will allow Georgians to take a look at the inner workings of their state government.”
During the 30-minute virtual segments, Rep. Thomas will interview state officials and agency representatives regarding state services and programming. The virtual talk-show will provide Georgians with an opportunity to understand state departments, services and the budgets they operate from. Rep. Thomas seeks to increase community engagement with these state officials.
Invited guests for “State Talk” include Vic Reynolds, director, Georgia Bureau of Investigation; and Kevin Holder, executive director, Council of Probate Court Judges of Georgia. Rep. Thomas will also interview several officials from the Office of Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King, including Terri Blackmer, director, Criminal Investigations Division; Courtney Floyd, consumer and community liaison; and Amanda Jones, fire and life safety educator.
Rep. Thomas will post “State Talk” interviews online via multiple social media platforms. For more information about the upcoming virtual series, please contact Rep. Thomas at mandisha.thomas@house.ga.gov.
