ATLANTA – State Representative Mandisha Thomas (D-Atlanta) will hold a press conference to discuss state funding for the Young Farmer Program in South Fulton County on Thursday, July 29, 2021, at 10 a.m. at the City of Fairburn Community Garden.
Rep. Thomas will be joined by Traves Hyman, who is the first African American Georgia Young Farmer in 50 years; Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Gary Black; Fairburn Mayor Elizabeth Carr-Hurst; Kendall Rae, creator of aGROWKulture and youngest certified farmer in Georgia; Fulton County Commissioner Kadesha Abdur-Rahman, District 6; City of South Fulton Councilman Corey A. Reeves, District 5; Billy Hughes, state advisor of Future Farmers of American; Dustin Davis-Austin, director of Career, Technical and Agriculture Education Learning & Teaching at Fulton County Schools; and Margie Boone, founder/CEO of Margie’s House, Inc.
