Rep. Mesha Mainor Commends Georgia Tech Students’ Achievements

ATLANTA – State Representative Mesha Mainor (D-Atlanta) commends several undergraduate students at the Georgia Institute of Technology for their outstanding academic performance for the fall 2020 semester. Georgia Tech is located in House District 56, and Rep. Mainor recognized these students during a morning order on the House floor today, Monday, February 8.

“As my fellow lawmakers and I vote on legislation regarding K-12 and higher education, let’s remember Georgia’s goals: job security, workforce development and economic prosperity,” said Rep. Mainor. “We know that every student is not the same, nor does every family have the same resources. Therefore, our obligation is to serve all students, especially those with disabilities, and to provide resources to fit their family’s needs. COVID-19 may have changed our strategies, but our service to students, who are Georgia’s future leaders, remains the same. Congratulations to all students and teachers across Georgia for continuing to make strides during the pandemic as you continuously try to manage what may seem like the impossible.”

Rep. Mainor commends Ameya Vitankar, Shashank Singhania and Kanav Garg for their exceptional academic success as undergraduate students and for earning 4.0 GPAs last semester. She also congratulates Yexin Tian, Rene Van Hoorde, Swetha Rajagopalan, Kevin Matthew and Yasmine Soubai for earning a 3.0 GPA or higher.
