ATLANTA – State Representative Mesha Mainor (D-Atlanta) will host the “Women in Politics” symposium on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, from 3 – 5 p.m. in the House Chamber of the Georgia State Capitol.
Rep. Mainor will be joined by LaVonda N. Reed, dean of Georgia State University School of Law; Charlayne Hunter-Gault, civil rights activist and journalist; and Fulton County Commissioner Khadijah Abdur-Rahman. This symposium will also feature a panel discussion about increasing the number of women in political genres and inequalities in women’s issues. The panelists will include Erika Mitchell, board member of Atlanta Public Schools; Kelli Stewart, founder of L.E.A.D. Youth Center; Pamela Brown, 100 Black Women; and a representative of the Freedom Georgia Initiative.
