Rep. Mike Glanton Recognizes Jonesboro Councilman Wallace Norrington at State Capitol

ATLANTA— State Representative Mike Glanton (D-Jonesboro) today recognized Jonesboro Councilman Wallace Norrington before the House of Representatives. Rep. Glanton sponsored House Resolution 453, legislation which honors Mr. Norrington.

“It is a privilege to congratulate Councilman Norrington on his 24 years of outstanding public service,” said Rep. Glanton. “Councilman Norrington is well respected in our community for his commitment and dedication. His leadership has certainly made a mark on the city of Jonesboro and its people, and it is my pleasure to present him with this resolution.”

Councilman Norrington is the fifth and longest-serving African American council member in Jonesboro history. He also served as Jonesboro’s Mayor Pro Tem in 2014.

Representative Mike Glanton represents the citizens of District 75, which includes portions of Clayton County. He was first elected into the House of Representatives in 2006, and was re-elected in 2012. He currently serves on the Appropriations, Defense & Veterans Affairs, Education, MARTOC, and Public Safety and Homeland Security committees.
