Rep. Pat Gardner Appointed to House Study Committee on Children’s Mental Health

ATLANTA – House Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge) recently appointed State Representative Pat Gardner (D-Atlanta) to the House Study Committee on Children’s Mental Health.

“The welfare of Georgia’s children is a concern that should be at the forefront of every conversation,” said Rep. Gardner. “I look forward to working with my colleagues to find solutions to the problems facing those most vulnerable, and I would like to thank Speaker Ralston for giving me this opportunity.”

This study committee is established by House Resolution 641 and will study available resources for children with mental health issues in this state and identify possible solutions or improvements in the delivery of services, particularly concerning early intervention and prevention services.

Representative Pat Gardner represents the citizens of District 57, which includes portions of the City of Atlanta. She was elected into the House of Representatives in 2000, and currently serves on the Appropriations Subcommittee on Health and the Ethics, Higher Education, Natural Resources & Environment, and Transportation Committees.
