ATLANTA – The Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments named State Representative Robert Dickey (R-Musella) as the Chairman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Education. Rep. Dickey will also serve as the Secretary on the Agriculture & Consumer Affairs Committee and as a member on the Banks & Banking, Energy, Utilities & Telecommunications, Higher Education, and Natural Resources & Environment committees.
“Overseeing the state’s budget of our K-12 education is vital to ensuring our students receive the education needed to achieve their highest potential and to have the skills needed for a successful future,” said Rep. Dickey. “I am grateful to Speaker Ralston and the Committee on Assignments for giving me this opportunity to serve in this leadership capacity, and I appreciate their confidence and trust in me. I would also like to thank Governor Deal for allowing me to serve as his Administration Floor Leader for the past two years.”
The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives.

Representative Robert Dickey represents the citizens of District 140, which includes all of Crawford County, and portions of Bibb, Houston, Monroe and Peach counties. He was elected into the House of Representatives in 2010, and currently serves as the Chairman of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Education and Secretary on the Agriculture & Consumer Affairs Committee.
