Rep. Robert Dickey to Co-Host 2023 Agricultural Issues Summit in Perry

ATLANTA – House Agriculture & Consumer Affairs Chairman Robert Dickey (R-Musella) will co-host the 2023 Agricultural Issues Summit on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter (Miller-Murphy-Howard Building) in Perry. Chairman Dickey will co-host the summit with State Senator Russ Goodman (R-Cogdell), chairman of the Senate Agriculture & Consumer Affairs Committee.

“I am extremely excited to host another summit this summer and spend time evaluating today’s business climate and challenges for our state’s number one industry,” said Rep. Dickey. “We have recruited a top-tier line-up of speakers, state leaders and presenters that farmers and stakeholders will not want to miss. This summit has become an annual tradition for our agriculture industry, and I look forward to seeing how this year’s summit will produce achievable solutions.”

This annual summit focuses on agriculture related legislative issues that affect Georgia’s farmers and consumers throughout the state. Some of the concerns and challenges that will be discussed include foreign competition, sustainability and marketing, supply chain issues and weather.

This is event is also sponsored by the Georgia Farm Bureau, Georgia Agribusiness Council, Georgia Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association, Georgia Cattlemen’s Association, Georgia Forestry Association, Georgia Poultry Association, Georgia Green Industry Association and the Urban Agriculture Council.
