Rep. Rutledge Appointed to Georgia Commission on Freight & Logistics

ATLANTA – State Representative Dale Rutledge (R-McDonough) was recently appointed by Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge) to serve on the Georgia Commission on Freight & Logistics.

“I would like to thank Speaker Ralston for the appointment to the Georgia Commission on Freight & Logistics,” said Rep. Rutledge. “With more than thirty years of experience in international air and ocean freight, I am eager to work with all stakeholders in developing solutions to better serve this industry and the taxpayers of Georgia.”

Created by House Resolution 37 during the 2019 legislative session, the Commission will study Georgia’s freight and logistics network and find ways to move freight more efficiently throughout Georgia spurring economic growth and job creation. During the next two years, the commission will also meet to ensure and improve state policies regarding regional and statewide transportation and mobility. The members of the Commission include three members of the Senate, three members of the House, six logistics professionals, four local government officials and several leaders of organizations and state agencies.

Representative Dale Rutledge represents the citizens of District 109, which includes portions of Henry, Newton and Rockdale counties. He was elected to the House of Representatives in 2012 and currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation and Secretary of the Ways and Means Committee. He also serves on the Agriculture & Consumer Affairs, Judiciary, Motor Vehicles, Regulated Industries, Small Business and Transportation committees.
