ATLANTA – State Representative Ed Rynders (R-Albany) led the Georgia House of Representatives in recognizing the Lee County High School Trojans football team on Monday, March 5, 2018 in the House Chamber at the Georgia State Capitol. Rep. Rynders honored the team with House Resolution 1021, which commends the Lee County Trojans for their victory in the 2017 Georgia High School Association (GHSA) Class 6A Football Championship.
“It was a great privilege to welcome Lee County High School to the State Capitol and commend them for their hard work and victory during the 2017 football season,” said Rep. Rynders. “The state football champion has come out of this region for the past four years, and I am proud of the Trojans’ perseverance and determination.”
The Lee County High School Trojans defeated Coffee High School’s football team by a score of 28-21 in the GHSA 6A State Football Championship game. This was the varsity football program’s first state football championship win. Dean Fabrizio, the Trojans’ head coach, was named State Coach of the Year for his leadership during the 2017 football season.
